Access Information

Wheelchair & Mobility Scooter Access

The Visitor Centre, exhibition, shop, and café are all fully accessible. The shuttle buses to the stones are also wheelchair accessible. The path around the monument is a mixture of tarmac and grass. While generally accessible, the grass path can become difficult to navigate in wet weather.

Parking

Accessible parking bays are available in the main car park, approximately 100 metres from the Visitor Centre entrance.

Toilets

Accessible toilets and a Changing Places facility are located at the Visitor Centre.

Wheelchair Loan

A limited number of manual wheelchairs are available to borrow from the admissions area on a first-come, first-served basis.

Free Carer Ticket

A carer or essential companion for a disabled visitor is admitted free of charge. You can book their free ticket online along with your own.

Audio Descriptive Guide

An audio descriptive version of the audio guide is available in English on the app for visitors with visual impairments.

Assistance Dogs

Registered assistance dogs are welcome across the entire site, including on the shuttle buses.

Is the shuttle bus accessible?
Yes, the shuttle buses are fully accessible and can accommodate wheelchairs and small mobility scooters.
How far is the walk to the stones?
The walk from the Visitor Centre to the stones is approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) and takes around 30 minutes. The shuttle bus takes 10 minutes.
Are there seats around the site?
There is limited seating around the stone circle itself, but benches are available at the Visitor Centre and in the car park areas.
